We can assist in diagnosing disease, cultural or insect problems; advising about lawn and plant care; identifying plants and weeds; suggesting plants for problem areas; and
providing other information relating to the landscape. If you have a question about trees, shrubs, flowers, fruits, vegetables, houseplants, or household pests, give us a try.
It is especially helpful
to bring in a specimen of the ailing plant to facilitate our diagnosis. If possible, specimens should be taken from a part of the plant showing both healthy and diseased tissue on the same sample. Please refer to
our tips for collecting and packaging samples. If the Master Gardeners at the clinic cannot diagnose the sample themselves, they will forward it to our diagnostic laboratory for further analysis, then follow up
with a phone call or lab report to you in 2 to 5 weeks.
In 2000, clinics will run from the first week of April through the end of September. Clinics are not held at Libraries on holidays when the
library is closed. We invite Fairfax County residents to visit our clinics and bring your questions and plant problems. |
